Henna Brow FAQ
The Answers You Need
What is Henna?
Henna is natural product made from the hina plant or the henna tree which is found in India, North Africa, and the Middle East. It has the power to stain hair and the skin. Unlike regular tints, henna doesn't contain any ammonia or peroxides that may irritate sensitive skin.
I use a special henna product called Supercilium which is manufactured in the Netherlands and formulated from a specific region in India that allows the henna tattoo to last longer than other commonly available henna products on the market.
How long will it last?
As with all temporary tattoos, results do vary. But in general, henna applied to the hair can last up to 6 weeks or more and henna applied to the skin can last up to 2 weeks or more. Dry skin types will retain the tattoo for longer while Oily skin types fade faster. Skin exfoliation and other lifestyle activities resulting in sweating will make it fade faster too. While the henna is semi-permanent, the skin is not. Every person renews and sheds their skin at different cycles.
What can I expect during the appointment?
Once you arrive at my salon, you'll be taken into a separate room where we'll discuss what you're wanting and decide on the right color and shape of the brow. Because my specialty is Microblading, I spend some time drawing the brow - a key step to making sure that you'll love the final look. This may take about 5-10 minutes.
I'll then spend another 5-10 minutes setting up the henna product and applying it to the eyebrows. The ends of the eyebrows will generally be darker and the front will be a little lighter so that it creates a natural-looking ombré effect.
I let the henna soak for another 15-20 minutes and then remove it to reveal your new look!
All-in-all it takes about 45 minutes.
